Where Ben Jones is now...
A 21 year old Law Graduate from Warwick University, who lives, works and trains in Coventry. A member of Coventry Godiva Harriers, he has progressed from schoolboy titles to England junior representative honours over cross country and is now serving his apprenticeship in senior national competition.

Ultimately running for Team GB in the 2012 Olympic marathon.
What Ben Jones needs to do to get there...
Convert junior success into senior GB representative honours. Improving all track performances before transferring to the road and his marathon debut in 2010. Increasing and then consistently maintaining his training to meet the demands of world marathon running. A diet of twice a day training throughout the year, a weekly journey of running more than 90 miles a week.
Where Stratford Sharks Swimming Club is now...
Currently 200 competitive swimmers, approximately 120 of which are Juniors at 12 and under. Competing in the first divisions of the Senior and Junior leagues, with 5-9 swimmers competing each year at the National Championships. Three of our current swimmers have been ‘talent spotted’ and identified as having Olympic potential. They have taken part in a number of the GB and Welsh fast-track programmes to develop Olympic Class Swimmers.
Where Stratford Sharks Swimming Club would like to be in 2012...
In 2012 we would hope to have at least six swimmers competing in International Class fields, three of which could compete at the London 2012 Games.
What Stratford Sharks Swimming Club needs to do to get there...
The club desperately needs additional pool space for training and high-class training facilities. This would include regular access to a 50m pool, accompanying land training and conditioning facilities, additional professional coaching and world class coaching techniques. Additional funding through grants and sponsors is essential to provide top class training and coaching facilities.

Aged 17, Leamington born Terry is currently working as a peer mentor within Hybrid:arts – a major element of this role is his involvement in a series of Staying Safe projects, using the medium of music and technology to reach out to young people with Staying Safe messages discouraging irresponsible behaviour and improving community relations.

In 2012 Terry would like to be growing his own social enterprise operation utilising the inspiration of the Olympic Games and the power of music and creative technology to build a better future for young people and brighten their outlook and aspirations.

Terry is undertaking continued Peer Mentor and Music Technology training, and embarking on a new project with his fellow peer mentors, which will take the staying safe products they have made into schools to spread positive messages and set the ball rolling.
Where Imagineer Productions is now...
A recently formed events production company in Coventry who have delivered spectacular large scale performances to tie in with major sporting and cultural events that the city have hosted. These include the opening ceremony to the International Children’s Games and the Celebrating Coventry weekend.

Delivering a first rate Cultural Olympiad for the sub-region and participating in the London carnival celebrations. Delivering a large scale celebratory cultural project which leaves, as a legacy, an iconic piece of public art for Coventry and increases the profile of the city.

Work with local, national and international partners to secure funding from 2008 -2012 to support a developing programme of cultural activity which feeds our major 2012 project. We will also work in partnership with Kinetika Arts International as part of ImagiNation:Our Nation to embed Coventry’s cultural offer into a national framework.

Old Cathedral was destroyed in a bombing raid. New Cathedral was consecrated in 1962. Currently a worldwide symbol of the power of Peace and Reconciliation and strives, inspired by the Christian faith, to support organisations around the world seeking peace in their communities.
Where Coventry Cathedral would like to be in 2012...
2012 is the Cathedral’s Golden Jubilee year. Our ambition is to establish the Cathedral as a World Class Centre for Peace & Reconciliation. The ministry closely parallels the ideals of the International Olympic movement of international friendship and cultural understanding and hopes to feature in the 2012 Torch Relay as part of the Cultural Olympiad celebrations.

By 2012 to have improved the 50yr old infrastructure and offer modern facilities and activities that further define it as a World-Class centre for Peace & Reconciliation, and encourage tourists to visit and engage with the Cathedral’s awe-inspiring and deeply symbolic buildings and artworks.

Home to Coventry Gymnastics and Judo Club who have a number of past National, European and Commonwealth champions, the school has been working for the past three years with British Gymnastics to create a centre of excellence for gymnastics in Coventry.

Continue to work with NGB's of each sport and local and regional partners to develop both sports in line with current practices. Recruit and retain athletes into the sport and encourage participation and the delivery of high quality PE and school sport, whilst supporting the growing number of elite athletes to achieve their goals.
