Our Pre-Games Training Camps

A World Class Training Camp Partnership

A World Class Training Camp Partnership

Coventry and Warwickshire can offer the perfect training camp environment for athletes to prepare and focus in the lead up to the London 2012 Games and beyond.

We can offer training facilities for 20 of the 26 Olympic sports with a climate that is near identical to London. We are proud to have 10 venues in the official London 2012 Pre-Games Training Camp guide, which can be found at: www.london2012.com

Our region combines the vibrancy and excitement of one of the largest, historic cities in England with the peace and tranquillity of the rural Warwickshire countryside.

Home to the World famous Lady Godiva and the birthplace of William Shakespeare, Stratford-Upon Avon, we are easily accessible by road, rail and air, with Coventry just 90 miles (145 km) northwest of London, within two hours from the Olympic Park.

Coventry and Warwickshire as part of the West Midlands Region, has a proud sporting heritage and a huge passion for sport with over 100 athletes from our sub-region having competed at the Olympic and Paralympic Games since 1900.

We can offer you World Class training facilities across Olympic, Paralympic and Commonwealth sports and wish to offer you far more than a base for training and preparation in the years leading up to London 2012.

A Wealth of Expertise and Experience
Coventry and Warwickshire has a growing reputation for staging major sports events and hosting international teams in Olympic, Paralympic and Commonwealth sports.

In the past five years we have hosted the 2005 International Children’s Games, 2007 European Cup of Race-walking, 2007 UK School Games and the 2009 UK Transplant Games. Following the success of these events, in 2012, Coventry is one of 6 cities across the UK to host the London 2012 Olympic Football competition at the City of Coventry Stadium the only Olympic venue in the Midlands.

Our proposals contain flexibility for you to select training venues from a range of options, based on your own assessments to meet the needs of your athletes, coaches and administrators.

Ultimately we will do all we can to ensure our team of experts make available to you the skills, knowledge and experience our sub-region has to ensure your athletes achieve maximum success in London 2012 and beyond.
