Inspire Programme

The Inspire Programme recognises projects that have embraced the inspiration of London 2012 through the Olympic and Paralympic values. Here are the Inspire projects from across Coventry and Warwickshire.

Coventry Ambassadors

A volunteering scheme for over 300 local people to represent Coventry as ambassadors during the London 2012 Games helping to welcome the world to Coventry

Schools Torch Relay

Inspiring Coventry Schools to develop their own concept of the Olympic Torch Relay, designing their own torches and organising their own relay celebrations in school time

Sports at the Games

A series of short films explaining each of the 26 Olympic Sports that will take place during London 2012. Find out how you can take part in these sports locally and have a go

Proud of my City

Tell your story of what you are doing to be proud of Coventry in the build up to London 2012. Get involved and make a difference in your community to be proud of your city

The Believe Project

A sub-regional dance project that will engage 2,500 school children with inspirational dance activities and unique workshops contributing to a large scale performance involving over 400 performers

Playing for Peace

A Sport and Peace exhibition inspired by the Olympic Truce highlighting the role sport can play in promoting peaceful relations across the world, raising awareness of disability and able-bodied sport

We Love You City

Following a hugely successful run in 2010, the Belgrade’s smash-hit FA Cup drama, We Love You City, is back to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Coventry City FC’s historic FA Cup win

Stars in the Morning Sky

Chris Hannan's new adaptation of Alexander Galin's Moscow Olympic drama, Stars in the Morning Sky is a brand new Belgrade Theatre production directed by Hamish Glen

Legacy League

The Shared System for Sport & Physical Activity Volunteering has been created to support clubs to recruit and retain volunteers in a consistent and supported way

Boys Dancing

Creating an energised region-wide West Midlands alliance to develop and celebrate dance for young men, ensuring boys take the lead with support from professional dancers

Fencing Inspires

Offering people opportunities to experience the sports of fencing and wheelchair fencing through expert coaching and tuition, and to meet and be inspired by international athletes

Creative Futures

Encouraging young people to fulfil their potential using the arts to engage and provide them with positive activities and a platform to showcase their achievements

Knickers and Vests

Investigating notions of “discipline” in sport and theatre, inspired by memories from members of the public of Physical Education between 1948 and the late 1980s

A mobile museum with an exhibition focusing on Warwickshire's cultural and sporting heroes to link in with the regions connections to the origins of the modern Olympic's

One Body One Life

The programme focuses on healthy eating and physical activity using behavioural change techniques to enable clients to make achievable changes to their eating and exercise habits
