The London 2012 Olympic Football competition came to Coventry and brought with it thousands of visitors during the Games in July and August 2012.

More than 300 applicants were recruited to be volunteers, with roles such as team leaders, linguists and general ambassadors who were based at key city centre locations and in the last mile leading up to the City of Coventry Stadium.

We would like to thank all the Coventry Ambassadors for providing such a first class welcome to everyone they came into contact with during Games Time in Coventry.

Ambassadors supported Days 44 and 45 of the Olympic Torch Relay, 12 matches of Olympic Football from 25 July to 9 August and the Paralympic Flame Celebration event on 25 August.

Recognised by their unique pink uniform please check out the facebook page to see some photos of the Ambassadors in action.
