Our Plans

The London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games provide a once in a lifetime opportunity to inspire and engage communities across the country to be part of the two biggest sporting events in the world.

Coventry is immensely proud to have the honour of being an Olympic Host City after being selected to be the Midlands Venue for Olympic Football in 2012. Our vision to be part of London 2012 is to maximise this once in a life time opportunity and provide everyone in Coventry & Warwickshire with their own Olympic experience.

In 2012, we will encourage everyone to have their own Olympic Moment, uniting Coventry & Warwickshire and making our region come alive in this national celebration.

During London’s four-year Olympiad, we aim to capture the inspiration of the Games and use it to encourage individuals, sports clubs, schools, businesses, local authorities and other organisations to challenge themselves to be the best they can be, and to start their own journey to London 2012.

Our website www.cswp.org.uk/london2012 will articulate the journeys of our communities, enabling us to tell the story of how our region was part of the London 2012 and how our sub-region benefitted.
